This restaurant opened last weekend and I am so excited that I have found it! It is West Boca but well worth leaving the East side to experience this culinary delight. I had such a difficult time picking from the menu as it all sounded amazing. A few of my favorites were grilled calamari, escargot and hand down the best Mussels I have ever had. You also can not go wrong with anything on their wine menu.

A terrific and unexpected great new find in West Boca! So excited to finally have a Great, Beautiful, and comfy local restaurant in our neighborhood. A property that not only has an incredible atmosphere, casual, chic and totally cool... From a very comfy and easy dining room, to a wonderful bar area.. Our evening began with a wonderful greeting by the host Carl, who was very engaging and terrific to introduce us to this new find. Sara our waitress The staff, was , informative and very attentive. Food was wonderful! We enjoyed our first dining experience this evening in the bar area, listening to great music, enjoyed a wonderful frisée salad with an incredible poached egg and champagne dressing, followed by a beef bourgenoin with mashed potatoes that actually may be the best I ever tasted! My meal ( the former was my partners, that I kept eating !) was an incredible pot of muscles that were cooked to perfection in a lovely Provençal sauce, with just the right amount of heat. The owners were on premise and very attentive to make certain all details of the guests were attended to. This property is a win for the neighborhood! Welcome to Boca! We are thrilled to have you in the West side of town!

Great new spot! The food is excellent, the service is great and the decor is beautiful. There is something on the menu for everyone. I'm looking forward to bringing my whole family over the holidays.

I was lucky enough to visit La Ferme recently and the experience certainly lived up to my expectations. Our meal was absolutely incredible and the service was wonderful. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the entire evening was perfect. We started with the Farm Salad, Gravlax and the Octopus followed by a special mushroom consomme that the chef had whipped up consisting of foie gras, duck confit and topped with shaved truffle. The beef tartare was divine and presented beautifully and my main course of scallops were absolutely succulent and delicious. We finished off the meal with the chocolate mousse cake which is to die for. Probably the best mousse I have ever had. Even though the restaurant is not in the main area of Boca, it is certainly worth the extra 10 minutes driving to get there. Free valet but plenty of self parking in the lot as well. I can't wait to return!

This restaurant is amazing! The interior decorating is just breathtaking! The vibe is very romantic and intimate and that this something that lacks in alot of restaurants in the same area. The music is awesome, the ambiance is just what a doctor ordered for date night! We started off with the octopus, which was cooked to perfection! it was tender and flavorful and the sauces...oh the sauces. The sauces were right on point! Then followed by the Farm salad which was dressed with a really tasty lemon vinaigrette. For main course, we ordered the branzino which was so on point. It was served lemon on the side and a gribiche sauce you can put on the fish as much as you would like. The sauce was so good. I am very much a sauce person, so I was loving all the flavors in every dish accompanied by the sauces! My husband ordered the duck, and it was cooked perfectly. It also came with a very good sauce, and the confit and breast were tasty! I would definitely order everything I had again, this place is a hidden gem and I hope this restaurant stays consistent and stays around for a while. I really love the atmosphere here, and its super romantic and the food is perfect. I havent had a good meal like this in a very long time, and its nice to know where I can find one in boca! For dessert, we went with the key lime pie....crust was perfect, the custard was perfect, whip cream was delicious! I'm telling you, just go!! you will love it!

After reading all the rave reviews we decided to go to la Ferme for diner as my husband and I had not had a date night for a long time. When we arrived at 7:30 we were greet and directed to our table. The waiter was quick to take our order and serve us wine and bottle water. Then the evening went down hill. We place our order and I requested the special. 45 Minutes later the appetizer showed up. Very tasty though a bit late. Then we waited for the main course. After an hour and 15 minutes of waiting for the main course to arrive without any attention by anyone even our waiter, we ask for the bill and left. This was the worst dining experience ever. It is one thing to wait with the waiter or maitre d apologizing for the delay or providing some explanation. However the only attention we got is when we ask for the bill. I hope they manage their other restaurants better than this one .

Absolutely amazing food, experience, and staff. 1) Staff - they were ridiculously attentive. Our waiter described every dish and wine with confidence and obvious love of the food. He chatted with us when we wanted to and was very very attentive in refilling our wine and water glass. Not to mention he properly timed all of our dishes coming out - something which is definitely under-appreciated at most other restaurants and we were very happy with here. He clearly had a lot of restaurant experience!! 2) Food - one dish was better than the next. We split oysters (super fresh) and the escargots/mushrooms appetizer (absolutely cannot say enough good things about this - so many escargot and the sauce was incredible!!). I then had the mussels which were super fresh/cooked properly and my mom had the wasabi tuna (amazing cut of tuna that was seasoned perfectly). My only regret was not having enough room for dessert!! 3) Experience - Did I mention the 1/2 bottle of wines? Also they started us off with a complimentary foie gras which was out of this world and gave us an extra oyster on the house. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and it showed. We will definitely be returning next time I am in town!!

Abysmal service. Six of us waited over an hour for our entrees. Although the food was good, the delay, the excuses and the off-handed manner of the waiter were very disappointing. Yes, they had a chef down (or two depending on who told the story) but that is no excuse for not (a) warning us that there would be a longer than usual wait and (b) offering to comp a drink or two. It is not about the money, or the time, both of which we had plenty of, it was the appalling laissez-faire approach to the situation and lack of respect that was unforgiveable.

In on a Friday night. Food was solid. Our party had appetizers, mains, wine and dessert and coffee. Spent plenty of money. Near the end of our meal the hostess came by to let us know the next party for the table was here, hint, hint. Dessert had just been served. A bad end to an otherwise nice evening. Very low class.

My husband surprised me last year with an unforgettable dinner at La Ferme. It has now become one of our frequent places to eat. The octopus is to die for. The foie gras is heavenly. Last night I had the short rib bourguignon!!! OMG! I recommend it highly!!!

This restaurant is a great, cute and cozy little surprise. I was very happy to hear that my friends were taking me to a new French restaurant for my birthday and the entire experience did not disappoint! The drinks were fabulous and I really couldn't believe how good the food was. I've lived in and around this area all my life and I must say it has been a long time since I've enjoyed a restaurant this much. I will definitely be coming back here soon for a special occasion or just a casual night with friends. Viva La Ferme!

Finally a top notch restaurant in West Boca. Lived here for 30 years and never had a better meal.Octopus, snapper and steak tartare all off the charts. Word of mouth should eventually fill the seats. I hope it makes it.

Finally, a South Florida restaurant that gets it! Exceptional food and professional service in a sophisticated setting WITHOUT THE NOISE and NONSENSE! An inviting place to dine with friends without having to yell across the table. Its a scene because it's new and it's hip, but without the usual South Florida nonsense. The mussels are to die for and James the bartender is serving up craft cocktails straight out of LA or NY. This place has got it right!

Everything was absolute perfection! The food was dynamite. The atmosphere was cozy. The service was spot on. What more could you want in a restaurant? My husband and I ordered the octopus, Provencal mussels and the duck, and all were delicious. Best duck I've ever had in my life! So excited that La Ferme is right down the street from me, and look forward to many more delicious meals here!

(3.5 really) On weekends, we usually drive 40-45 minutes South for dinner. After all, the Miami restaurant scene is much better than that of Broward County. This time, we (a party of 4) drove about 25 minutes, but North this time, and settled at La Ferme, an authentic French restaurant in Boca Raton. Two things I noticed right away. First, this is a beautiful restaurant. Great décor and detail. Second, the place was packed when we got there and just about 100% empty mid way through our dinner. An older crowd for sure. But that to me just meant we were probably going to have a solid meal... and we did! We began with the gruyere puffs stuffed with béchamel. I could have had 100 of these and called it a night! The octopus and tuna tartare were uneventful. For our entrees, as a group, we ordered the lamb wellington, the black cod, and the toulouse cassoulet,. For me the cod was kind of bland. The other two, however, were perfectly executed. For dessert, the wife was bummed that they had ran out of the mousse cake, so, instead, we ordered the chocolate fudge cake and the carrot cake. I liked the carrot cake as the fudge was just too rich for me. They did not charge us for either dessert, perhaps due to the fact they had ran out of the cake the wifey asked for? Corkage fee was $25 per bottle. Service was solid. Overall, we liked our experience. Certainly not an every weekend restaurant for us as it is pricey ($165 per couple). But, I would definitely like to return and try more of their menu.r

So glad we finally tried this place because it is just wonderful. Love the staff, food, atmosphere. All the other restaurants in Central Boca had an hour wait and this restaurant had no wait and everyone else is just missing out!

The food is amazing, particularly for an elegant restaurant tucked in a dive strip mall. The meat Pate and chicken were excellent and the mousse for dessert was exceptional even though I don't like mousse. The service was not good but it was the waiter's second day and they were short-handed so I give them a pass until next time

I love to read bad Yelp reviews since they are usually more honest than the reviewers that give 5 stars to everything. That's like the Wine Spectator giving a 90 point rating to an un-drinkable wine. I recently went to a Brickell restaurant that I loved, and read a very good review on that restaurant by a qualified Yelper. She also praised a new restaurant in West Boca. This review is that restaurant. La Ferme is worth the drive from Dade County. The reviews are all true. A gem in a strip shopping center with "NO" parking charges. The décor is elegant and inviting. The food is fabulous. The chef that took over for their former celebrity chef needs more public attention and praise. He has made a name for himself. Now the service. Perfect in every way possible. Wine corkage is offered at inviting charges. This is not your image of a Palm Beach restaurant. The crowd is hip and sharp.

This restaurant is a diamond in the ruff! It's hard to come by authentic French food in south Florida and Le ferme is spot on! I can't say enough about this off the beaten path little piece of heaven! Beautiful ambiance, friendly and knowledgeable staff, fantastic fresh foods and a wonderful wine selection. It's worth every minute you drive to get there and every dollar you spend!

Great service, we had 4 waiters basically. Beautiful decor & delicious food. Not cheap but good for a special occasion or night you want to fine dine. Try the Thai mussels, tuna tartare or Hanger Steak the rest we ca't speak for. :)

I dined at La Ferme and had a miserable experience. While the atmosphere is quite nice, the food and service were abominable. I ordered the filet mignon steak frites and was presented with a shriveled piece of steak on a plate consisting mainly of dry greens. The steak was overcooked, and despite ordering the "maitre d'butter", there was basically no sauce on the steak. When I complained to our server, she tried to justify the $39 price tag by telling me that the dish was supposed to come with fries (duh, steak frites) but they apparently forgot the fries. I had assumed the fries would come on another plate but this service screwup was just one among many. I had placed a spoonful of a side dish on my steak plate, so our arrogant server brought me another plate on which to place my steak to return it to the kitchen. I ordered the Bell and Evans chicken in the hopes that it would be a reasonable portion size. The "lemon thyme jus" was indistinguishable from water, and the chicken itself was inedible. It lacked flavor and was accompanied by a dollop of the blandest mashed potatoes I have ever tasted. We asked our server to bring the manager over, but seven minutes later she still hadn't come to our table. We then proceeded to ask another server to bring the manager over. The manager apologized and we left the restaurant completely dissatisfied and still hungry. Overall, the service was amateurish, fake, and arrogant and the food tasted like it should have been served on a plastic tray in a hospital cafeteria. I predict that this restaurant will fail as did its predecessor. People like it for its ambience and bar, and it is getting great reviews now because it is peak season in Boca and most of the people dining were snowbirds.

Very impressive. My wife and I went there for my birthday and had a top notch, although somewhat expensive, dinner. She started with escargot and I had the salmon tartare. The escargot were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the salmon tartare was made from absolutely fresh fish and mixed with lemon and cucumber. Both were a treat. For entrees we had the pork roast and the duck. The pork was prepared medium rare via sous vide and the duck was fall-off-the-bone tender. Both were great choices for dinner! We finished off our meal with a Key Lime tart that was perfect, not too sweet. I'd also like to mention the bread, which was delicious. When we commented on it, our server told us that they fly it in from NY. Be sure and have a slice of both the traditional baguette and their raisin walnut bread. Impeccable. I'll definitely be back to this gem of a French restaurant in West Boca. The service was top notch, and there's even plenty of free parking.

My previous review was based upon a limited dining experience. I had assigned La Ferme 5 stars after thoroughly enjoying the mussels & pomme frites which were, further enhanced by the remarkable service and ambience. We now have returned as a group of four for full dinners... two members of our group ordered the course prix fixe offerings of the day at $32 per 3 courses.. The onion soup crock was enjoyed by one of the wives who felt the crock was a bit too small...4 stars.....My wife had the classic escargot which she thought was just OK...I sampled the escargot and found it to be worth at least four stars... I prefer more garlic. The trout was wonderfully crispy rated 5 stars,as determined by how much our friend raved over the preparation. My entree was the $39 bouillibaisse.. I've never had a better fishsauce with an an adequate amount but not overly generous portion of very fresh fish and seafood....but missed the rouille. At $39 per dish it should have been included....4-5 stars My wife had the duck leg entree which was a bit skimpy only including a leg( as was stated on the prixe fixe menu )and a cold noodle pudding...3 -4 stars. Bottom line: if you come to La Ferme with a big appetite you might leave a bit hungry particularly, if you choose the prixe fixed dinner which appears to be "portion controlled" as per my wife's duck leg. In my case all of the portions seem to be adequate since I am NOT a particularly hefty gourmand. We had profiteroles for dessert which were average. ..3-4 stars.Bar cocktails generally run $12 but for some reason a glass of wine will cost you $15 no matter what type or vineyard you choose... in this regard I'm a bit guilty for not looking at the wine list. I was a bit annoyed since my wine had a relatively "short pour". As before....the service was magnificent..... our server was very tuned in to the menu and had definite suggestions which in my case were important to follow... The ambience was 5 stars lacking the usual noisy clatter found on a Saturday night in many of the more popular Delray and Boca restaurants. In summary La Ferme is an upscale moderately expensive French restaurant which cannot and should not be called a Bistro... I will return particularly for the mussels and the Bouillibaisse. I would also recommend that La Ferme be a bit more generous with their wines at $15 per glass..... most "true bistros" as per my humble definition have very inexpensive house wines.... so be it. .

We chose this restaurant based on our friends recommendation. Although the name implies French Cuisine the menu offers Modern Mediterranean Cuisine with variations on classical dishes. Unknown to us new ownership took over early July ( without any press release) well after our friends rave reviews. The menu hasn't changed despite the change in hands but Chef Fried's adaptation was nicely executed. We began with a refreshing variation of Vichyssoise seasoned with asparagus, mint and garnished with house made smoked salmon and creme fraiche. The Onion Soup was light with layers of subtle flavors. Second course was perfectly charred Octopus Salad with tender white beans and a drizzle of tomato aioli, and the Moules Marinieres was nicely presented in a polished steamer pot. The Veal Scaloppine with Morel Mushroom Sauce and Short Ribs over mashed potato are not your typical summer fare but were nicely done as our entree selections. The Warm Apple Tart with homemade Vanilla Ice Cream was a delicious finish to our meal. The interior is exquisitely decorated by the very reputable Shuster Design Associates in Fort Lauderdale. Hopefully the new ownership( whoever they are) and Chef will continue to offer food to showcase the beautiful interior.

I will be a little more critical than everyone. We had to wait too long for water and bread. At this level it should be instantaneous when a guest is seated. It was fresh but not warmed up. We waited for the food too long. We had to call the waiter to check on our order. It finally came, but my father in law's bouillabaisse did not have enough broth. Once again he had to wait for the waiter to add the broth while we were already eating. He also had to ask for a bowl for the shells from the bouillabaisse. This should be automatically taken care of. In his opinion it was overpriced & mediocre compared to what he had at a restaurant in Philadelphia called Bookbinder. The salmon my wife had was too rare. She was never asked how she wanted it cooked. The sautéed spinach was delicious. BTW the corking fee is $25. We brought our own favorite red wine. Guys: when a restaurant would like to be known as a five star establishment I expect perfect food and perfect service. This place requires improvement.

Came with friends who had been before. It's nice to find an authentic French restaurant and not a wannabe. Everything the 4 of us ordered was excellent. We all ended up with beef but it was wonderful. Beet salad was so tasty. Standout was the salmon appetizer. Gougeres were good...but the salmon!! Desserts were so good. Mousse cake was incredible as was Apple brown butter. I'm not a profiteroles fan but they were perfect. Would definitely recommend. Expensive but worth it!!

Very rarely do I believe in a perfect three course meal, but my expectations were more than exceeded tonight at La Ferme. Everything was fresh, we were given plenty of attention by all of the staff, and the food was absolutely incredible. My only complaint was the size of the dessert--I was too tempted to finish a massive slice of flourless chocolate cake alongside their lavender creme brulee. Absolutely worth a visit, don't let the strip mall fool you.

  • M K.

Very disappointing. Gougeres didn't taste good and were boring. My sisters hanger steak was rancid. It was not edible. Horrible. I had trout which would have been good had they bothered to season it. A little salt goes a long ways guys

Our cousin has this place on her recent restaurant rotation, so we decided it would be a good spot for an adult family "get together". It's located in a fairly unassuming strip shopping center in northwest Boca...Doris' Italian Market is the big tenant there. Walk inside and it is another world from what you'd expect. Very nice decor and good service from the minute we walked in the door...which the hostess actually opened for us as my wife and I chatted on the sidewalk in front of the door. No, we don't look as if we need assistance. There were five of us, so we ordered a few appetizers to start with. The Gruyere puffs were pretty good...think cream puff with melted cheese instead. We all liked the escargot. The smoked salmon was pretty well received as well. We also had their Farmhouse pate, which we enjoyed. For out entrees we chose the: bouillabaisse (very good); trout chapelure (different than I expected, but again, in a very good way); filet mignon (excellent); short ribs (fabulous); and seared duck (perfect). For desert we shared the flourless chocolate fudge cake and the apple crisp. Both were good choices! I would have taken more pictures, but our cousin brought a couple of bottles of wine (they have an extensive wine list, but you can bring your own for a corkage fee) that were top notch and we were doing a lot of talking and laughing. The owner gave us a nice round of limoncello for an after dinner drink. This was an excellent first experience at La Ferme. Bottom line...we will be back! Be aware though, this is not a cheap joint. But frankly, expect to pay for a nice meal. It's expensive, but not stupid expensive. The most expensive entree was under $40. We walked out feeling like it was absolutely worth it.

Finally I came to La Ferme last night for dinner. It is in the strip mall in West Boca (this is the most west I've ever been in Florida...), but once we stepped into the restaurant, it's a completely different world! The decor is very cute and Frenchy, love the art and chandelier. We were greeted by this very friendly funny gentleman, and got seated in the booth. We studied the menu and I actually wanted to try everything on the menu, but we got escargot and beef tartar to start with. escargot were out of shell, I like them in the shell, so all the juices and flavor will stay in the shell, but it still had the garlic and basil flavor I like, beef tartar was very nice, came with a quailed egg and had very nice flavor, we will order beef tartar again. Next course I ordered farm salad, which was very good and fresh, my friend had french onion soup, the cheese wasn't as cheesy as regular onion soup but the cheese was still crunchy outside and soft inside, it was still yum. For main, we split the branzino over broccolini plate, it was good, but I've had better. For dessert we tried to order chocolate cake but they were out of it, so our server lady gave us flour less chocolate mousse with berries on the house. Overall the service was great, the food was good, this might be the nicest dinner we ever had in Boca. We will definitely go back.

I've been wanting to try this relatively new place in a nondescript strip mall in west Boca. The atmosphere is upscale contemporary and romantic. A special occasion atmosphere. The food was excellent and served by friendly staff. The only downside was the slow service. We were there half an hour and didn't even have drinks yet. It wasn't too much of a downside because we weren't in a hurry. We would return.

  • Brenda P.

C'est magnifique! Despite its strip mall location, the restaurant shines even before setting foot inside. The bright yellow signage makes you do a double take the second you spot it; it's loud. Right outside its door, there is complimentary valet parking. If this is not your thing, no worries, there's plenty of self-parking to be had. It will be easy to forget about the location once you enter. La Ferme has pulled out all the stops! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Our party was seated immediately upon arrival. We had a reservation for 8:30pm and every single table was taken. La Ferme is divided into two sections: the main dining room and the more casual bar area offering additional booth seating. The dining room area mostly cleared out by 9:30 on a Saturday night. The bar area stayed full a little longer. Service was great throughout the night. Our waitress was very friendly and had no problem joining in our ruckus. We started with the GOURGERES (beautiful, addicting gruyere puffs stuffed with béchamel), TUNA TARTARE, and the GRILLED OCTOPUS. I loved the puffs the best! The tuna tartare was great and paired very well with the sriacha sauce. The grilled octopus didn't look it, but tasted way too charred and gummy. In hind sight, we should have returned it. For entrees, we had a couple of orders of the LAMB LOIN WELLINGTON, the TRADITIONAL TOULOUSE CASSOULET, and the STEAMED BLACK COD. The cod was less than stellar. If you are dieting, this is the way to go. Well cooked cod, but on the bland side. The lamb and cassoulet were fabulous. I don't think there was much left on our plates. We also had a side of TRUFFLE FRIES which were good. I really wanted to try the mousse cake, but they had run out. Lesson learned, I will pre-order it next time. Instead, we had the OLD FASHIONED CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE and the GINGER CARROT CAKE. The chocolate bark accompanying the fudge cake was especially good. Caution, this dessert is highly decadent and recommended for hard-core chocolate lovers only. The carrot cake was also very fresh and delicious. The restaurant is on the pricey side (especially the entrees). I know they use high quality products such as the Bell & Evans chicken brand, but this might limit the amount of times one can visit. It is definitively a special occasion place and/or when you are OK splurging. Or maybe that's just a Boca thing... For those interested in bringing in your wine, the corkage fee is $25. If I leave a restaurant thinking of any dish (cough, cough, the lamb!), then it means I will be back. On my to-do list next...the mussels (which looked really great) and the chocolate mousse! La Ferme (which means THE FARM) has only been around about 3 1/2 months. Go pay them a visit!

Food, service and ambiance were excellent. I had the steak tartar, the frisée salad and scallops. I brought my 1 year old and 4 year old and the staff treated us superbly. I was nervous to bring my children to an upscale French restaurant but they went above and beyond to makes us feels welcome. The food was excellent. My only criticism is I didn't get enough whiskey in my glass when I ordered a whiskey on the rocks. It felt like a measured shot. When spending $400 on a meal and you ask for liquor on the rocks you show get a glass full IMO.

I had read the reviews and La Ferme lived up to the best of them We were a party of 8 including a two year old. All enjoyed the experience. The ambiance was Madison Avenue In the 60's. The menu imaginative and well prepared. Service was good. And not too costly for what was received. It deserves its five stars. M Robert goldstein

A great fine dining experience. It is really 4.5 and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Food was excellent! It is not traditional french and I expect it is authentically contemporary french food althogh it has been 8 years since I have been. Everything is 5 star and only the service would have a demerit. Not at all bad. In fact very attentive. Any waiter who passed checked on.us and or refilled water or cleared plates. Our waitress was skilled and just needed to be a bit more confident...which comes with time. For the quality of the restaurant she needs to discuss the specials/food as if she made them herself. Lastly...and I am picking at splinters here...the waitstaff at a restaurant this high end should know that a customer gives you a valet ticket when he pays, it isn't because he is looking for a valdation. The waiter returns it to me with the CC receipt and says "I'm sorry, we don't do anything with this, you just give it to the man outside." Got it and there is another possibility that you could give it to the valet so my car is ready when I leave. Perhaps that is just done in New Orleans where I grew up. Like I said, not a big deal. I will go back.

We went recently to LeFerme. The experience was poor. The food took over an hour and a half to be plated and then needed to be returned. The waiter told us he was leaving (he had been there a month) because of the overall atmosphere. The apologies were endless, the food poor and the maitre'd was something out of La Cage aux Folles. Our foursome were thinking, "this place wont be around long".

Hurray- we have a great place to eat that's close by. The service was so attentive and friendly and the restaurant is so beautiful that you feel as though you're on vacation. Escargots with mushrooms-yum! Garlic, butter, and delicious. Excellent steak-better than some steak houses. Friends loved the oysters on the half shell. Great fruit tart for dessert. We will be back!

When we first walked into this restaurant we were transported some where else. New York, Chicago, Boston... One of the most beautiful restaurants we have ever seen! We went to the bar and the bartender, James, was great; a true craft cocktail maker and there is a wonderful selection of liquor. We were then seated in the dining room and our waiter was lovely. The selection on the menu was superb. We started with the octopus which was the best we have ever had and the escargot was presented in a small cast iron kettle with bread to sop up all the wonderful sauce...perfection!! We then had a salad; I had the Cesar and my husband had the farm salad and again all was very fresh and delicious. Dinner then came and I had the mussels in a Provençal style tomato sauce which were better than any mussels I have had anywhere in the world!! My husband had the Bronzino and it was served whole with an amazing dipping sauce and also was out of this world! We were full, but decided to share one dessert so we had the apple crisp. I could have been in Paris it was that amazing. I never write these for restaurants but this restaurant is just too good to be true! We are very lucky people to have a restaurant like this in our backyard here in Boca Raton, Florida and we can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu!

want steak and pommes frites, choose publix and mcdonalds over la ferme . want an elegant, quiet atmosphere, skip la ferme where owner walks around in untucked flannel shirt, jeans and sneakers and chef's every word in open kitchen can be heard in dining room. outrageous prices for ordinary food from boring menu.

We thought we would try La Ferme, meaning the Farm in French, after driving by it several times. A little odd that in their logo are figures of all the animals you will be eating, maybe not the best form of advertising. We wondered why was an expensive restaurant set in the 'ambiance' of a dumpy strip mall, complete with a rundown Chinese takeout and a dive of a pizza joint. It's kind of like putting a Rolls Royce dealership next to Century Village which is just a few blocks down the street. After eating there I can see why they located there and not in East Boca where they would have a thing called competition, with a bevy full of four and five star restaurants most of them with better prices and food, equal to or better than La Ferme. Yes there is valet parking, which consists of three valets talking with each other since it would take some effort to not find an empty parking place in this out of date strip mall. There were three people parked in valet when we left out of about fifty cars. You would've to be criminally lazy to park there and not walk ten feet to the restaurant. Either that or you want to impress your company by sporting a $3 valet tip. I guess they have to offer a valet to make themselves seem complete as an 'upscale' restaurant. Nonetheless, we ate there and started with a French Onion Soup, $12. It was definitely good soup, not the best I've had but definitely very good. We then followed it with a Caesar salad, good but nothing special at all. Onto the entrée, which was a steak hangar, good but very small, even by uber-expensive restaurant standards. It comes with frites or fries, which were lame. How does a French Restaurant mess up French fries, kind of like going to a Scandinavian restaurant that doesn't even know how to make a Swedish meatball? Sides were good, we had potatoes and brussel sprouts. We also had the Bell & Evans Chicken and scallops. Definitely small portions and a limited menu with about a dozen choices. The décor is very nice, like a Modern, Euro Chic look, with white everywhere. If there was any more white in this place, I would've sworn Casper the ghost was behind the decorating. Finally, we capped the evening off with their chocolate cake, which was really good. Not sure why the restaurant serves Foie Gras, which is basically a duck with a tube shoved down its throat to be force-fed and fattened-up for market super fast, banned in California and elsewhere for cruelty reasons. Apparently, the Shapiros, the owners of the place fired the original chef, Chef Walden, who was the big draw to the place and replaced him with John Belleme of the failed Stephane's restaurant. Not sure why they fired Chef Walden who was nationally recognized with a chef of a failed restaurant who sports a recent DUI under his belt. Anyways, it's a decent restaurant but it's expensive even by Ruth's Chris and Morton's standards, with skimpier portions. I think their prices need to go on a diet from their current nosebleed-levels and portions have to be seriously upsized; otherwise, just like its predecessor, Bistro Gastronomie, it too will go belly up!

Phenomenal food in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Try the Parma prepared Mussels! Outstanding! Gruyere appetizer is a real palate pleaser. Attentive staff, eager to please!
